The real shift is this: your teams will start shipping AI features faster than your governance model can absorb them. If you do not understand the engineering patterns behind LLM systems, you will end up either blocking useful use cases or approving unsafe ones.

    You need to know how to design around retrieval, tools, human approval, and auditability rather than just prompt text. In investment banking, most valuable LLM use cases are not open-ended chat; they are bounded workflows like KYC summarization, pitchbook drafting, policy search, and trade exception handling.

    Learn how to build systems with explicit context windows, source grounding, fallback paths, and human-in-the-loop checkpoints. A CTO who understands this can push AI into production without turning every request into a compliance incident.
